Therapie der Nahtundichtigkeit nach Resektion eines Ösophaguskarzinoms mittels EndoVAC

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the success rate and duration of the therapy for anastomotic leakage in patients suffering from esophageal cancer using EndoVAC therapy, based on the given data. It also is the aim to clarify to the patient what the chances of success are for the treatment of anastomotic leakage using the EndoVAC.

The results are:

  • Discovery of the seam insufficiency 6 days after the operation in the median
  • The total length of stay was 48 days in the median
  • Therapy was successful in 87,5 % of the patients

The data originates from the ‘Klinikum Rechts der Isar’ of the technical university of Munich and it was analysed using the program ‚SPSS‘.

Further studies should strive to include more patient data as well as extend to include all of the therapy options for a seam insufficiency.
