Internship at the Disney Company in London

My two weeks long internship took place at the Disney office in Hammersmith, London starting at the 8th of July.
At the companie I was in the department responsible for marketing the Disney TV-Channels „Disney Junior“, „Disney XD“ and „Disney Channel“ for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The two weeks of the internship were planned precisely and consisted of me visiting different „sub“-departments to get a insight in every step necessary for the broadcast. I roughly experienced everything from planning the channel-schedules, putting commercial breaks together and creating an effective franchise up to analysing the watch-data after broadcasting to better adapt future shows. Thanks to everybody explaining me how their work is like a cog in a clockwork throughout the two weeks, I had a good picture of how the entire department works and how big companies are structured. Due to my personal interest in music and everything related to that my favorite part of the intership was the day I got to visit an audio studio and accompany two proffesional producers creating a trailer for an upcoming show. I also was allowed to create some thumbnails and banners for the Disney Junior YouTube Channel but apart from that I hardly had to do any „real“ work since my workdays mainly consisted of getting the work processes explained and shown.
Because I’ve already been to London 3 years ago and got to see all the „main attractions“ I spent the free weekend I had exploring the less popular parts of London. Visiting London’s Sax.co.uk shop and spending roughly 4 hours looking and testing different saxophones was the highlight for the saxophone enthusiast I am. Another great experience was the cabel car ride from the Greenwich Peninsula over the river thames to the other side.
